The 7th National Assembly of Cambodia was officially established

The newly elected 125 Cambodian parliamentarians were sworn in on the 21st in the capital Phnom Penh, marking the official establishment of the seventh Cambodian National Assembly. King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia presided over the first session of the new parliament. Sihamoni congratulated the newly elected parliament and hoped that the seventh National Assembly would fulfill its responsibilities responsibly. On August 5th, the Cambodian National Election Commission announced the election results. The People's Party won the 7th National Assembly election and won 120 seats in the National Assembly, with the second ranked Fengsinbik Party winning the remaining 5 parliamentary seats. The National Assembly is the highest authority and legislative body in Cambodia, with a term of 5 years each. The parliamentary seats are allocated based on the election results, and the political parties that obtain a majority of seats are responsible for forming the new Royal Government. (New News Agency)
