According to the plan, by 2026, the Longgupo Site will be transformed into an ancient human cultural heritage park, serving as an important relic of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park (Chongqing section). The main stream of the Yangtze River stretches 55 kilometers in Wushan, and the territory is rich in cultural relics and resources related to the Yangtze River. From 1984 to 2012, the Longgupo Site underwent four scientific and archaeological excavations, with over 1000 stone artifacts and 120 vertebrate fossils unearthed. Wushan, Chongqing, fully utilizes this ancient cultural resource and is accelerating its construction into a well-known tourist destination. With the continuous advancement of excavation and research, it is bound to further uncover the mystery of ancient humans, activate the cultural resources of the history of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, and showcase the historical value of the Wuxia land, "said Chai Chenggang, Chairman of the Wushan County Political Consultative Conference. About 10 kilometers north of the mouth of the Little Three Gorges Ditcui Gorge, it is the ancient town of Dachang, a "pocket ancient city" with "four doors for communication, and one lamp for the whole city". The buildings inside the city are curved and eaves are flying, giving off a rich ancient style. Entering from the Tongji Gate of the ancient town, a two-story wooden ancient theater stands out in front of us, with over 30 actors rehearsing a "immersive interactive ancient town parade show". In ancient times, the two banks of the river centered around Dachang were important salt towns in the Three Gorges region. At this moment, actors were wearing white themed costumes, symbolizing the use of salt as jade, like gentlemen. In this way, different colors are used to echo the four seasons of the year, and the audience also dresses up as "ancestors". A unique ancient town parade show begins... It is reported that in 2022, the highway from Wushan County to Dachang Town is completed and opened to traffic, reducing the travel time of the two roads to about half an hour. Tourists enter the ancient town from the Three Gorges along the waterway, and then conveniently return by land. At the same time, the ancient town can reach the Wulipo National Nature Reserve, a world natural heritage site, all the way north, and connect to the Yangtze River World Heritage Journey.
