Two HXN3 high-power diesel locomotives designed and manufactured by CRRC Dalian Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. for the China Laos Railway have successfully arrived in Boten, Laos recently. These two locomotives will undertake the traction tasks of trunk line traction, shunting operation, small operation and emergency disposal in the Boten Vientiane Section of the China Laos Railway, improve the freight operation capacity of this line, and break the bottleneck of large tonnage transportation. The HXN3 diesel locomotive is a 6000 horsepower AC transmission diesel locomotive, characterized by high traction, low emissions, good reliability, high safety, convenient operation, and low cost. This is another new model provided by CRRC Dalian to China Laos Railway after the "Lancang" power centralized EMU power car and HXD3C electric locomotive. In response to the high temperature and humid climate characteristics of Laos, the design team of CRRC Dalian Company has optimized the structure of the emergency shutdown system for diesel engines, effectively reducing the risk of accidental shutdown of diesel engines caused by short circuits in related circuits due to humidity. At the same time, the locomotive is equipped with China Laos dual-mode communication radio, Laos five hole socket and other on-board equipment, which is a diesel locomotive specially tailored for the China Laos railway. The China Laos Railway starts from Kunming, China, in the north and ends in Vientiane, Laos in the south, with a total length of 1035 kilometers.
