After successfully completing the friendly visit mission of five countries in West Africa, the 43rd batch of escort fleets of the Chinese Navy made a technical stop in Cape Town, South Africa from the 24th to the 27th for supply and rest. At around 9:00 am local time on the 24th, a fleet of ships flying the flags of China and South America sailed into the Cape Town port area. As the formation ships slowly docked at the Victoria Wharf in Cape Town Port, more than 150 people, including the military attache of the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, the Consul General in Cape Town and staff of the embassy and consulate, representatives of local Overseas Chinese, and representatives of South African navy officers and soldiers, greeted them at the wharf. The local Overseas Chinese welcomed the arrival of the formation with a huge five-star red flag and welcome banner. The formation of officers and soldiers lined up neatly on the deck, waving to the crowd at the dock. After berthing, the commander of the South African navy, Lieutenant General Lobes, accompanied by the captain and political commissar of the Nanning Ship, reviewed the Guard of honour of the Nanning Ship and held in-depth talks with the formation commander. Lobes hopes to continue deepening naval cooperation and exchanges between the two countries. Then, welcome the crowd to board the Nanning Ship and the Nansi Lake Ship in batches to visit. During the stop, the formation commander and his party went to the South African Naval fleet headquarters to pay a visit to Major General Ncomond, the commander of the Naval fleet, and visited the Simonston naval base. The formation officers and South African Navy officers and soldiers had in-depth discussions on issues such as ship navigation safety and handling, as well as the surrounding maritime security threats and responses faced by South Africa.
