Jilan Creek is a first-class tributary of the Yangtze River in the central urban area of Chongqing. Due to the rapid development of the city, some river channels have become underground box culverts, the underground pipeline network is complex, and problems such as direct discharge of domestic sewage are prominent. At one point, the Jianglan River became a "black and odorous water body". In order to completely cut off the overflow of sewage into the river, Chongqing has invested approximately 350 million yuan since 2019 to build a groundwater quality improvement station at the intersection of Jianlan Creek and the Yangtze River, and set up intelligent monitoring stations for water quality, flow rate, and other aspects along the river to systematically restore the ecology of Jianlan Creek. Yang Jining, the relevant person in charge of the operation of the water quality improvement station in the Jianglan River, said, "The underground water quality improvement station has isolated odors, and the direct discharge outlets of the sewage in the Jianglan River have been completely removed. The sewage treatment standard has been raised to the surface water level of Class IV." Nowadays, the Jianglan River, with lush vegetation on both sides, has become a good place for leisure for surrounding residents. Improving the water quality of the Yangtze River requires injecting live water from the source. Chongqing is one of the first pilot areas for the investigation and remediation of sewage outlets entering the Yangtze River in China. At present, 4012 sewage outlets in the main stream of the Yangtze River, Jialing River and Wujiang River have been monitored and traced. In 2022, the proportion of excellent water quality in the city's 74 state-controlled sections will reach 98.6%. While doing a good job in "water writing," Chongqing, a mountainous city, strives to recite the "Shan Zi Jing" well. The Fengdu County Nantian Lake National Tourist Resort, which is about 1800 meters above sea level, has lush Old-growth forest, rippling mountains and lakes, and a beer music festival and other colorful cultural and tourism activities, attracting many tourists to summer vacation. In the past, the traffic here was blocked, and it was difficult for the "Ba Zhang Tian" to support a local population. In recent years, Fengdu County has protected mountain ecology, improved transportation, hotels and other tourism facilities, and developed sports and health care, home stay catering, fruit picking and other industries. Since this year, Nantian Lake Resort has received about 850000 tourists, driving more than 3700 people around to increase their income and become rich. Strengthen urban mountain control, improve forest quality, repair abandoned mines, and control air pollution... By 2022, Forest cover in Chongqing will reach 55%, and the greening rate of urban built-up areas will reach 42.5%; 332 days of excellent air quality and no severe pollution weather. A good ecological environment is the most inclusive welfare for people's livelihoods. Four mountains in the central urban area of Chongqing run through the whole city, and the Yangtze River and Jialing River meet at Chaotianmen, forming a unique city of mountains and waters. But once upon a time, many factories stood along the river, passenger and freight docks were scattered, and high-rise roads crowded the riverbank, causing the entire city to face the dilemma of ecosystem fragmentation and barrier between mountains, rivers, and people. Build cities for the people and let them enjoy happiness. In recent years, Chongqing has closely focused on the goal of building a "beautiful place with beautiful mountains and rivers" and "promoting high-quality development and creating high-quality life", promoted the urban renewal with the Yangtze River and Jialing River "two rivers and four banks" as the main axis, set aside public space to see mountains and water, and restored the function of Kangan Line Wildlife corridor through reduction, density, and blank space.
