The 131st China Laos Myanmar Thailand Mekong Joint Patrol Law Enforcement Operation Launched

At 9:00 a.m. on the 25th, the 131st China Laos Myanmar Thailand Mekong River Joint Patrol and Law Enforcement Action was officially launched as three Chinese law enforcement boats slowly left the Jingha Dock in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. In this operation, the law enforcement agencies of China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand dispatched a total of 6 law enforcement boats, and set up a formation command post on the Chinese law enforcement boats. The four party commanders of China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand led a team to jointly command the operation at the formation command post. The law enforcement boats participating in the operation will depart from Jingha in China, Banxiangguo in Laos, Mengmo, and Wanbang Wharf in Myanmar to carry out full line patrols and segmented patrols in key water areas, and comprehensively strengthen river basin control efforts. During the operation, the joint patrol law enforcement team will carry out joint public investigations, joint visits, and drug control propaganda in key waters of the Mekong River, crack down on various cross-border illegal and criminal activities, and spare no effort to maintain the security and stability of the basin. The law enforcement agencies of the four countries will also hold an information exchange meeting in Chiang Kai shek, Thailand, to analyze and assess the security situation in the Mekong River Basin and discuss key cooperation issues in the near future.
