2023-07-28
Recently, the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Social Sciences Academic Press jointly released the New Media Bluebook: China's New Media Development Report No.14 (2023) in Jiangsu Province to comprehensively analyze the development of China's new media and interpret the development trend of new media. The Bluebook shows that China's virtual digital human industry will usher in its first year of development in 2022, and its market applications will show explosive growth. The Bluebook is divided into five parts: the general report, the hot spot, the survey, the communication and the industry. It summarizes that since 2022, in the face of the characteristics of digitalization, intelligence and mobility, the transformation and upgrading of new media have been accelerated. The development of China's network and new media has shown the following characteristics: first, the digital China strategy continues to enable smart city construction and digital rural planning, and the construction of all media communication is moving towards a systematic direction; Secondly, the benefits of the digital economy are constantly increasing, and network regulation is gradually becoming standardized and detailed; The exploration of aging media and the issue of minors' internet access have become the focus of new media attention; Fourth, the short video industry continued to make efforts, the technological empowerment of media content production process accelerated the transformation, and emerging industrial positions such as Metaverse became the new media battleground; Fifth, the concept of a community of shared future in cyberspace has been deepening, and the integration of publishing has been deepening. The "Generation Z" group has profoundly influenced the voice of new media discourse. The Bluebook shows that China's virtual digital human industry has developed rapidly in recent years. The market recognition and consumption willingness of users for virtual digital people have increasingly highlighted their strong commercial value. In addition, relevant national industrial policies have clearly expressed support for this emerging industry, and new and old internet manufacturers have increased their investment in the virtual digital person market. In 2022, the market application of virtual digital people has shown an explosive trend. In 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and five other departments jointly issued the "Action Plan for the Integration and Development of Virtual Reality and Industry Applications (2022-2026)", proposing that the overall scale of China's virtual reality industry will exceed 350 billion yuan by 2026. Subsequently, Beijing, Shanghai and other places successively released special policies for digital people, promoting the application of digital people in various industries such as digital marketing, online training, e-commerce live streaming, video entertainment, and service consulting. The Bluebook believes that with the implementation of China's normalized regulatory policy on Internet platforms, Internet platforms will develop in a standardized and healthy direction and continue to explore overseas markets. At the same time, attention should also be paid to some problems and challenges in the development of new media, such as the need to fill the gaps in the construction chain of the fourth level integrated media, and the endless emergence of network chaos. More detailed and institutionalized regulatory norms need to be formed. (New News Agency)
