The launching ceremony of Thailand's first Tokamak experimental device TT-1 was held in Nakhon Nayok province, central Thailand, on the 25th, marking the official operation of this Sino Thai Nuclear fusion experimental device. The device presented by the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to the Thai Institute of Nuclear Technology arrived in Thailand in January this year and began trial operation in May. Tawachai, director of the Thai Institute of Nuclear Technology, said in an interview that the operation of Thailand's first Tokamak experimental device has promoted the development of Nuclear fusion applications in Thailand, promoted its development in disciplines construction, engineering technology research and development, talent training and other aspects, and will help Thailand build a research and development center based on Tokamak technology in the ASEAN region. Song Yuntao, director of the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that China's research in the field of Nuclear fusion applications has always maintained an open and friendly attitude, and hopes to work together with scientists from all countries, including Thailand, to pursue the dream of clean energy for mankind. Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand and Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Han Zhiqiang attended the event and witnessed the launch of the device. Tokamak refers to a device and related technology aimed at achieving controlled Nuclear fusion by using magnetic confinement, which is currently the key direction of international exploration to obtain energy from Nuclear fusion. In accordance with relevant agreements, relying on China's international leading advantages in the field of magnetic confinement Nuclear fusion research, the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences provides assistance to the Thai Institute of Nuclear Technology in terms of talent cultivation, device installation, experimental operation, etc. (New News Agency)
