The ministerial meeting of the United Nations High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development was held from 17 to 19 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. President Klöch of the 77th President of the United Nations General Assembly, Secretary General Guterres of the United Nations, President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council Racezara Stoyeva and others attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Zhang Jun, the Permanent representative to the United Nations to the United Nations, attended the general debate and called on the international community to take joint action to promote the building of a Community of Common Destiny. Zhang Jun stated that the implementation process of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has exceeded half, but the overall progress is far from expected. Each country should truly place development issues at the core of the international agenda, mobilize all resources, and form a strong joint force where everyone values development and all countries seek common development. We must effectively create an international environment conducive to development, build an open world economy, promote the reform of the international financial system, and ensure that all countries, especially developing countries, have equal access to development opportunities and achievements. We need to focus on building a comprehensive and inclusive global development partnership and jointly cultivate new driving forces for development. Developed countries should fulfill their commitments to provide financial, technological, and capacity building support to developing countries as soon as possible. Zhang Jun stressed that China has always closely combined the Sustainable Development Goals with the national development plan, focused on implementation, fulfillment of commitments and action, and comprehensively built a modern socialist country. China adheres to development as the absolute principle, adheres to green and low-carbon development, and shares development opportunities with the world. The Chinese leaders put forward the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the global development initiative to support countries to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. China expects more partners to participate in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" and the global development initiative, and share new opportunities brought by China's new development. Zhang Jun pointed out that although China has made great achievements in its economic and social development, it should also be clearly recognized that China is still a developing country, the problem of unbalanced and inadequate development is still prominent, and there is still a long way to go to achieve Chinese path to modernization. The common development of all countries is true development and sustainable development. The international community should adhere to the spirit of mutual consultation, shared development and win-win cooperation, make full use of important opportunities such as the Sustainable Development Goals Summit, the Future Summit, and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, and strive to make the 2030 Agenda a reality from a vision, achieve common development, open up a common future, and promote the building of a Community of Common Destiny.
