The world's first impact hydropower unit with maximum power of 500 MW per unit capacity has its runner Centrosome forgings off the production line
2023-07-17
On July 14, the Centrosome forging of the runner of the world's first impact hydropower unit with a maximum power of 500 MW per unit, developed by Dongfang Electric Dongfang Electric Machinery Co., Ltd. and CITIC Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., passed the joint inspection of the three parties including the owner. The indicators were excellent, fully met the technical requirements, and successfully went offline, realizing a new breakthrough in the development of China's 500 MW high head, large capacity, and impact hydropower units. It is reported that impulse hydropower units are the main models serving the country's major strategic needs of "accelerating the construction of hydropower bases in southwest China". Among them, the runner is the core component with the greatest difficulty in research and development and the most manufacturing difficulties in hydroelectric units. The Centrosome forging is an important part of the high head and large capacity impact runner. The forging weight of the new offline forging is close to 150 tons, and the finished forging reaches the level of one hundred tons. It will be applied to the only hydropower project in China that can carry out the development and application demonstration of 500 MW high head and large capacity impact turbine units - Datang Group Zhala Hydropower Station. During the development of this project, DFEM mastered the stress distribution of large impact runner through innovative process design and accurate calculation. On this basis, the laser arc composite additive technology was applied to runner manufacturing, effectively controlling the size and weight of runner Centrosome forgings, releasing the manufacturing risk of large forgings, and ensuring the efficient and reliable manufacturing of large impact runner Centrosome forgings. At present, the first domestically produced 150 megawatt level large impact runner manufactured using robot arc additive manufacturing technology has successfully achieved engineering application, providing solid technical support and practical experience for the design and manufacturing of large impact runner forgings. Next, this technology will also be applied to the processing and manufacturing of the runner of the 500 MW impact hydroelectric unit at the Zhala Hydropower Station. ▲ Forging of runner Centrosome of the world's first 500 MW impact hydropower unit with maximum capacity per unit.
