Announcement of China's initial plan for manned lunar landing
2023-07-12
The 9th China (International) Commercial Aerospace Summit Forum opened in Wuhan on the same day. Zhang Hailian, deputy chief designer of the China Manned Space Program, introduced the preliminary plan of China's manned lunar landing at the forum. Zhang Hailian pointed out that the development of China's manned Exploration of the Moon will be divided into three steps. The first step is the "key depth" stage, to complete the key technology research and in-depth demonstration of plans. The second step is the moon landing stage, which plans to achieve manned Moon landing by 2030. The third step is the stage of lunar scientific research and development, to explore and build a lunar scientific research test station, and carry out systematic and continuous Exploration of the Moon and related technical test verification. Zhang Hailian introduced that after preliminary analysis, the initial plan for China's manned lunar landing is to adopt a lunar orbit docking flight plan. Specifically, two carrier rockets are used to transport the lunar lander and manned spacecraft to the circumlunar orbit. The manned spacecraft and lunar lander rendezvous and dock in the circumlunar orbit, and astronauts enter the lunar lander from the spacecraft. Afterwards, the lunar lander separated from the spacecraft and descended to the predetermined area on the lunar surface. Astronauts conducted scientific investigations and sample collection. After completing the established mission, the astronauts will ascend to the lunar orbit on a lander and rendezvous with the spacecraft. The astronauts transferred lunar samples and other materials to the spacecraft, which separated them from the lander and conducted a lunar to ground transfer back to Earth. It is understood that in order to complete this task, Chinese researchers are developing the Long March 10, the Next-generation crewed spacecraft, the lunar lander, the lunar landing suit, the manned Lunar rover, etc. (New News Agency)
