On July 8th, the 2023 Ganzhou Biomedical Development Conference and the First Academic Committee Meeting of the National Key Laboratory for New Drug Creation were held. Nine academicians and more than 160 well-known experts and scholars in the field of biopharmaceuticals gathered in Ganzhou to focus on conducting academic research on biopharmaceuticals, deepening exchanges and cooperation, and jointly promoting high-quality development of the biopharmaceutical industry in Ganzhou and the revolutionary old area of Ganzhou. Wang Dongguang, Vice President of the Air Force Medical University, Chen Zhinan, Academician of the CAE Member, and Li Kejian, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, delivered speeches respectively. Academicians Zhang Yun, Ding Jian, Wang Xuehao, Wang Guangji, Guo Zijian, Wang Junzhi, Li Xiaokun, Jiang Jiandong and others attended. Song Dexiong, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, presided over the opening ceremony. Experts and scholars from the national biopharmaceutical field, as well as heads of relevant national ministries, provincial and municipal units, attended the meeting. On site, the construction of the National Key Laboratory for New Drug Creation was officially launched, and appointment letters were issued to the Director, Executive Director, Academic Committee Director, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee, and Academic Committee members of the National Key Laboratory. Li Kejian pointed out that Ganzhou focuses on building a nationally renowned pharmaceutical and health industry base, adheres to the principle of prioritizing industries, vigorously promotes the development of industrial clusters, focuses on strengthening the empowerment of technological innovation, and promotes the high-quality development of the biopharmaceutical industry. Gannan Institute of Innovation and Transformation Medicine, Air Force Military Medical University, and Qingfeng Pharmaceutical jointly established the National Key Laboratory for New Drug Creation. This is currently the only national key laboratory in the field of biopharmaceuticals in Jiangxi, which is of great significance in promoting the innovative development of the biopharmaceutical industry in Ganzhou and Jiangxi, and building important strategic scientific and technological forces that support and lead China's pharmaceutical industry. Ganzhou will take this conference as an opportunity to fully serve and guarantee the construction of national key laboratories, and accelerate the creation of world-class innovative Drug development and transformation source. At the meeting, some academicians and experts gave keynote speeches, analyzing the development of the biopharmaceutical industry from multiple perspectives, levels, and directions based on their own majors, and providing valuable suggestions for the development of the biopharmaceutical industry in Ganzhou. It is understood that various construction units of the National Key Laboratory for New Drug Creation have invested in strong hardware support, and the research team has strong research foundation, transformation, and industrialization development strength. In the future, we hope to build the largest, highest standard, and most comprehensive biomedical drug research and development, transformation, and industrialization base in the central region. In recent years, Ganzhou City has vigorously promoted the high-quality development of bio pharmaceutical industry around building a nationally renowned pharmaceutical and mass health industry base. Adhere to the principle of prioritizing the industry, and make biopharmaceuticals one of the "1+5+N" leading industries. Plan to build a 25 square kilometer pharmaceutical and health industry park, introduce "21" supporting policies and measures, establish a 1.5 billion yuan venture capital fund, implement the system of industry chain leader and government enterprise roundtable meetings, and support the development of the biopharmaceutical industry with "one chain, one policy, one enterprise, one party". Vigorously promote the development of industrial clusters, focus on the four major tracks of "medicine, medicine, machinery and pet", create an industrial cluster with innovative medicine, medical equipment production as the main body, characteristic medical treatment, health care tourism, pet economy, etc. as the extension, introduce head enterprises such as Weigao Group and China Biology, and make the medical and health industry fully produced in 2022
