On July 3, CNOOC announced that with the completion of dome pouring of five 270000m3 LNG storage tank with the largest single tank capacity in the world, the main structure of Zhuhai Jinwan "Green Energy Port" Phase II Project has been completed, which is another key step towards the project's operation. After the completion of the project, the capacity of peak shaving and supply assurance of natural gas in Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and South China will be greatly improved. According to Shen Biren, the manager of CNOOC Jinwan "Green Energy Port" Phase II Project, the 270000 cubic meters of the world's largest LNG tank used in the project is independently designed by CNOOC CGTank tank core technology. The height of a single tank is 65.7 meters, equivalent to the height of the "Bird's Nest" of the Beijing National Indoor Stadium. Three C919 passenger aircraft can be stacked inside at the same time. It is understood that the second phase of the project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2024, when Jinwan "Green Energy Port" will become the largest natural gas storage and transportation base in South China, with an annual processing capacity of 7 million tons, equivalent to about 10 billion cubic meters of gaseous natural gas, about 50 billion kilowatt hours of power generation, 33.52 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reduction, equivalent to 70 million trees.
