On June 27, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao submitted China's letter of acceptance of the Protocol to the WTO Fisheries Subsidy Agreement to WTO Director General Ivera in Tianjin, marking that China has completed its domestic legal procedures for accepting the Agreement. The Agreement on Fishery Subsidies is the first WTO agreement mainly aimed at achieving the environmental Sustainable Development Goals, which was reached at the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC12) on June 17, 2022. According to the Marrakesh Agreement, the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies will enter into force after more than two-thirds of WTO members accept it. (New News Agency)
