Freetown News: The Sierra Leone Election Commission announced on the 27th that Julius Mada Bio, the current president and candidate of the Sierra Leone People's Party, has been re elected in the recent presidential election. The Sierra Leone Election Commission said at a press conference on the same day that Biot's voting rate was about 56.17%, and its main rival, the candidate of the National People's Congress Party, Samura Kamara, the largest opposition party, had about 41.16%. Camara subsequently announced on his personal social media account that he refused to acknowledge the election result. Sierra Leone held presidential and parliamentary elections on the 24th. This election is the fifth general election in Sierra Leone since the end of the civil war in 2002, and it is also the second time that Bio and Camara have competed for the presidency since the 2018 election. According to relevant regulations, if no presidential candidate receives more than 55% of the votes, the two candidates with the highest number of votes will enter the second round of voting.
