All countries in the world should seek common ground while reserving differences and work together to address global challenges in order to build a better world and increase people's well-being, Prime Minister Mia Amor Motley of List of prime ministers of Barbados said during an exclusive interview in Bridgetown, the capital of Pakistan, a few days ago. The 14th Summer Davos Forum is about to be held in Tianjin, and Motley will make an official visit to China in conjunction with attending the forum. In the interview, she highly praised the relationship between Barbados and China. Although there are differences in economic scale and national conditions between Barbados and China, the similarities in core values between the two countries enable them to move forward together, "she said. This year marks the 10th anniversary of China's "the Belt and Road" initiative. Talking about how to promote common development, Motley said that the "the Belt and Road" initiative "can help countries around the world to strengthen connectivity and help high-quality development". In February 2019, Barbados and China signed a memorandum of understanding on co building the "the Belt and Road" cooperation. In recent years, China has carried out a series of projects in the local area, such as food security centers, road restoration, and national sports stadium reconstruction, which have driven the economy and benefited people's livelihoods. The Chinese medical team assisting Pakistan, Confucius Institutes, and others have also used "people" as a link to continuously narrow the distance between the Chinese and Pakistani people. Motley said: "Barbados is very happy to sign the" the Belt and Road "cooperation document." She spoke highly of the fruitful exchanges between Pakistan and China in health, education and other fields, and looked forward to closer people to people and cultural exchanges between the two countries, ushering in "deeper cooperation". Motley fully agrees with the concept of a Community of Common Destiny put forward by Chinese leaders.
