The total steel consumption of the station building steel structure is about 118000 tons, which is composed of three parts: roof, "petal" and steel column beam. The "petal" shaped steel structure of Guangzhou Baiyun railway station, the first large-scale railway engineering project in China to use robots for construction, has a large volume, many nodes, and long overhang. It faces many difficulties, such as a wide range of operations in special environments, many cross operations in various disciplines, high requirements for construction protection near existing lines, and high risk of high-altitude Operational risk. To ensure the controlled welding quality of steel structures, the project team of China Railway Construction Engineering Group has tried out the "trackless all position crawling welding robot" for the first time. This robot applies visual sensing technology, an intelligent seam tracking system, and a welding torch swing system. It does not require preset tracks or guidance, and the equipment's magnetic attraction can walk on the components to complete welding operations. It can achieve 90 degree vertical up, vertical down, and horizontal crawling welding, ensuring timely and high-quality completion of the project. It is reported that Guangzhou Baiyun railway station will be completed by the end of 2023. After completion, it will become a new TOD large-scale comprehensive transportation hub with Lingnan characteristics, featuring station city integration, traffic integration, functional integration, ecological integration, and intelligent integration. Adhering to the construction concept of "smooth integration, green warmth, economy, art, intelligence and convenience", Guangzhou Baiyun railway station is equipped with a tourist center, long-distance passenger transport center, tourist bus station and urban bus station. After getting off the supporting urban public transport, passengers can enter the station and wait for a bus in less than 2 minutes through the connecting platform.
