China's Qi Jiguang Ship Successfully Ends Friendly Visit to Brunei and Departs for the Philippines

After leaving the dock, Qi Jiguang arrived at the designated sea area and joined with Brunei Navy's Darussalam to jointly carry out sailing drills. During my visit to Brunei, my mission commander visited the Acting Commander of the Brunei Navy, Sharif. The visiting officers and soldiers visited the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Military Museum, Brunei University, and Brunei Navy ships, held sports friendly matches with young officers and soldiers from the Brunei side, and participated in beach environmental protection public welfare activities. At the Wen Navy Training Center, the Chinese and Chinese sides had in-depth exchanges on the cultivation of naval talents between the two countries. During berthing, Qi Jiguang organized five ship opening activities, and nearly 1000 people, including the Chinese Embassy in Brunei, Brunei military, local citizens, Overseas Chinese, and Chinese funded institutions, boarded the ship to visit. On the evening of the 5th, Qi Jiguang lit all the lights and held a grand reception on the deck. More than 200 people from both Chinese and Chinese sides attended. At the reception, Chinese officials and soldiers brought performances such as martial arts and classical dance to the guests. On the morning of the 6th, Princess Masna, the Ambassador-at-large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Foreign relations of Brunei, and her husband boarded the ship for a visit and exchange, accompanied by Ambassador Xiao Jianguo and military attache Dai Qilin. Qi Jiguang Ship, named after Qi Jiguang, a national hero of the Ming Dynasty, was officially listed in February 2017.
