The reply emphasized that "on the new journey, we hope that the Chinese Art Museum will adhere to the correct political direction, adhere to the concept of putting the people first, practice the socialist core values, and make efforts in high-quality collection, high-level utilization, and high-quality services, striving to create a national or even world-class art palace where the people in the new era appreciate excellent art works and improve cultural literacy. For the past 60 years, generations of art museum personnel have worked hard at the China Art Museum. They have participated in the construction of the China Art Museum and witnessed the development of China's art industry, from their prime to their youthful appearance. ——Editor: Wu Weishan, Director of the Chinese Art Museum - "Let more people encounter art through the museum", with a fragrant and scholarly atmosphere, accompanied by poetry. Born into a scholarly family in Jiangsu, influenced by his father, Wu Weishan often recited ancient poetry and practiced calligraphy from a young age. In the 1980s and 1990s, there was a nationwide craze for "going overseas for business", but Wu Weishan was not impressed. Not everyone can do business, but someone needs to pursue spiritual value, "said Wu Weishan. Where does the power of the spirit come from? Wu Weishan started with the excellent traditional Chinese culture that he is most familiar with, and created statues of Chinese historical figures. Wu Weishan has created multiple sculptures of Chinese historical figures, including Confucius, Laozi, Li Bai, Du Fu, and others. Under his meticulous carving, these works not only have vivid and lifelike forms, but also present the meaning of Chinese history and culture. Since 2014, Wu Weishan has served as the fifth director of the China Art Museum. When mobilizing the family members of Mr. Gao Ershi, a calligrapher, to donate his works, Wu Weishan said: "Mr. Gao's works are hung in the living room, only his relatives and friends can see them, and the works are hung in the art museum, and the whole country can enjoy them." This remark moved Gao Ershi's family members, who finally agreed to donate Mr. Gao's works to the National Art Museum of China. To express gratitude, Wu Weishan signed a collection agreement and certificate by hand and sent them to every donor. In recent years, Wu Weishan has also proposed the idea of "activating collections", emphasizing the activation and utilization of collections. Wu Weishan said, "Collections in the warehouse are things, and only after activation are treasures. Revitalizing the collections of art museums is responsible for history, respects artists, and returns to the country and society." Therefore, the China Art Museum continued to launch a series of collections exhibitions and formed a brand. In 2017, during the large-scale collection revitalization exhibition "Beauty in the New Era", there were long queues of visitors every day. From 2014 to 2021, the China National Art Museum held over a hundred "Collection Revitalization Series Exhibitions", with a collection volume of over 16000 pieces per set. During the busy day, Wu Weishan left night time for his creations. In 2019, the Xiangshan Revolution Memorial Hall was completed, and Wu Weishan took on the task of creating large-scale themed sculptures. In the stillness of the night, Wu Weishan immersed himself in the world of art, and his hands never stopped in the dialogue between form and god. Works such as "A Million Heroes Crossing the River" and "The News of Victory" are all written by Wu Weishan
