On May 29th, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission announced the summary of spiritual issues related to the nationwide investigation and punishment of violations of the central eight point regulations in April 2023. In April of this year, a total of 6412 cases of mental problems in violation of the central eight point regulations were investigated and punished nationwide, and 9204 people were criticized, educated, helped, and dealt with. Among them, 6280 people were subject to party discipline and government sanctions. This is the 116th consecutive month that monthly report data has been released. From the perspective of the types of problems investigated and dealt with, in terms of fulfilling their duties, serving economic and social development and ecological environment protection, they are not responsible, not acting, disorderly acts, and false acts, which seriously affect high-quality development. In April, 2347 problems were investigated and dealt with nationwide, accounting for 87% of the total number of formalism and bureaucracy problems investigated and dealt with. The three types of issues investigated include illegal receipt and delivery of rare and precious products and gifts, illegal eating and drinking, and illegal distribution of subsidies or benefits, accounting for 43.3%, 21.1%, and 15.9% of the problems of hedonism and extravagance, respectively. From the level of investigation and punishment, in April, a total of 2 cases of provincial and ministerial level leadership cadres, 39 cases of prefecture level leadership cadres, 493 cases of county level leadership cadres, and 5878 cases of township level and below cadres were investigated and punished nationwide. Among them, the issue of cadres at the township level and below accounted for 91.7% of the total number of investigated and punished problems. The central eight point regulation is a long-term and effective iron rule and hard lever, which must be firmly adhered to and never relaxed. Any behavior that violates discipline in the face of wind will be punished and strictly investigated, and we will resolutely prevent rebound, hidden mutation, and fatigue and weariness.
