2023-05-30
On the morning of May 29th, the Chinese Navy ship Qi Jiguang, who was carrying out a long-distance internship mission, arrived in Sotao, Thailand and began a three-day friendly visit to Thailand. This is the fifth visit of a Chinese naval training ship to Thailand. At around 10 a.m. local time, the Qi Jiguang ship, flying the flags of China and Thailand, slowly docked at the port of Suotaoyi. More than 400 people, including Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Han Zhiqiang, Military Officer Wang Zheng, embassy staff, representatives of Chinese funded institutions and overseas Chinese, representatives of the Thai Navy Commander, representatives of the Sotao Yi Naval Base, and students from the Thai Naval Academy, welcomed them at the dock. The Thai staff presented a wreath to my task commander and exchanged greetings. During my visit to Thailand, my mission commander will meet with Thai Navy Commander Cheng Chai, attend a welcome dinner organized by the Satoyi Naval Base, and lead the students to visit and exchange ideas at the Thai Naval Academy. The visiting officers and soldiers will visit the Thai Navy's aircraft carrier "Chakri Narubet", the Rayong Province Public Guanghua School, and the Thai China Rayong Industrial Park. Qi Jiguang will organize ship opening activities and hold a deck reception. Suo Tao Yi Port is the largest military port in Thailand, located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand. There is an island barrier outside the port, and the terrain is hidden. It is a natural harbor. (Outlook New Era Network)
