2023-05-26
On the morning of May 25th, the Chinese Navy vessel Qi Jiguang successfully concluded its friendly visit to Vietnam and departed for Thailand. At 10 a.m. local time, the Vietnamese side held a grand farewell ceremony at Pier 2A, Xiansha Port, Danang. Xi Hui, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, Dong Biyou, Consul General in Danang, representatives of Chinese funded institutions and overseas Chinese, Nguyen Cuiying, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Danang City, and representatives of Vietnamese officials and soldiers saw off at the dock. After leaving the port, the Qi Jiguang ship held joint training with Vietnamese naval vessels. During my visit to Vietnam, my mission commander met with relevant leaders of the Da Nang military and civilian forces and attended a welcome dinner hosted by Rear Admiral Mei Zhongding of the Vietnamese Navy's Third Division. I visited the Vietnamese Navy's Third District Command and had professional exchanges and sports friendly competitions with Vietnamese Navy officers and soldiers. During this period, the Qi Jiguang ship also organized three naval opening events, with Vietnamese military, local citizens, overseas Chinese, and personnel from Chinese institutions boarding the ship for a visit. On the evening of May 24th, the Qi Jiguang ship lit up all its lights and held a grand deck reception, attended by nearly 200 people from both China and Vietnam. On the deck of the Qijiguang ship, a traditional Chinese culture exhibition area is set up, and student representatives perform traditional culture performances such as rope weaving, calligraphy, and tea art. At the reception, Chinese officials and soldiers brought folk music performances such as erhu and bamboo flute to the guests. Vietnamese navy officers and soldiers impromptu invited Chinese students to sing a song on site. (New News Agency)
