From May 23rd to 24th, a delegation of 16 people led by President Wu Guangxiong of the Taiwan Chinese Taoist Association of Guan Shengdi Jun visited and exchanged views with the Taoist Association in Pudong New Area. The President of the Taoist Association in Pudong New Area and the abbot of the Shanghai God of Wealth Temple, Mr. Xia Guangrong, warmly received and had friendly exchanges between the two sides. Zhao Yuming, Secretary General of the Taoist Association in Pudong New Area, accompanied the entire journey. At the symposium, Director Da Mingzong of the United Front Work Department of the Pudong New Area Committee delivered a speech, welcoming friends on behalf of the District Minzong Office, providing a detailed introduction to the religious work in Pudong New Area in recent years, and hoping that the two Taoist communities can strengthen communication and make positive contributions to the peaceful development of both sides of the Taiwan Strait. President Xia Guangrong welcomed the arrival of the guests on behalf of the Pudong New Area Taoist Association. In his speech, he introduced the development and current situation of the Pudong Taoist Association and reviewed the cultural exchange activities between the Association and Taiwan in recent years. He expressed that Taoism on both sides of the Taiwan Strait has the same roots and bloodline, and hopes that both sides can strengthen cooperation in Taoist cultural exchanges, work together to promote the integration and development of cross-strait cultures, and contribute to the strength of the Taoist community for the benefit of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. In his speech, Wu Guangxiong, the president of the Taiwan Chinese Taoist Guan Sheng Emperor Promotion Association, first expressed gratitude to the Pudong New Area government and the Pudong Taoist Association for their warm reception and meticulous arrangements. He introduced the organization of the Chinese Taoist Guan Sheng Emperor Promotion Association and the basic situation of the Guan Emperor Temple in the five major regions where it is located. He stated that this is their first visit to Taoism in Pudong, which is a rare opportunity and has yielded fruitful results. He hopes that both sides can strengthen cultural exchanges, learn from each other, and actively promote the common development of Taoist culture across the Taiwan Strait. During the visit and exchange period, the Taoist Association of Pudong New Area held a cross-strait Taoist culture seminar with the theme of "Taoism in the Era of Globalization and Overseas Communication" at the Qinci Yangdian. The two sides exchanged experiences on the development of Taoism globalization and overseas communication, and explored new concepts, ideas, and directions for the development of Taoism in the new era. The delegation led by General President Wu Guangxiong of the Chinese Taoist Association for the Promotion of the Holy Emperor of Guan and Emperor of Guan also visited the Chen Xing Guan Emperor Temple, Shanghai God of Wealth Temple, Sanyuan Palace Kun Taoist Temple, Wenchang Palace, and Qinci Yang Temple in Pudong New Area, and received warm reception from various temples.
