Chinese Navy Qi Jiguang Ends Friendly Visit to Vietnam and Departs for Thailand

On the 25th, the Chinese Navy's Qi Jiguang completed a friendly visit to Vietnam and departed for Thailand. At 10 a.m. local time, the Vietnamese side held a grand farewell ceremony at the Danang dock. Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xi Hui, Consul General of Danang Dong Biyou, representatives of Chinese institutions and overseas Chinese, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Danang City Nguyen Cuiying, and representatives of Vietnamese officials and soldiers saw off at the dock. After leaving the port, the Qi Jiguang ship held joint training with Vietnamese naval vessels. After visiting Vietnam, the Chinese task commander met with relevant leaders of the Da Nang military and civilian forces and attended a welcome dinner hosted by Major General Mei Zhongding of the Vietnamese Navy's Third Division. Representatives of visiting officers and soldiers visited the Vietnamese Navy's Third District Command and had professional exchanges and sports friendly competitions with Vietnamese Navy officers and soldiers. During this period, Qi Jiguang also organized three ship opening activities, with Vietnamese military, local citizens, Chinese and overseas Chinese, and personnel from Chinese institutions boarding the ship for a visit. On the evening of May 24th, Qi Jiguang organized a deck reception. On the evening of May 24th, the Qi Jiguang ship lit up all its lights and held a grand deck reception, attended by nearly 200 people from both China and Vietnam. Qi Jiguang set up a traditional Chinese culture exhibition area on the deck, where student representatives exhibited traditional culture such as rope weaving, calligraphy, and tea art. At the reception, Chinese officials and soldiers brought folk music performances such as erhu and bamboo flute to the guests. Vietnamese navy officers and soldiers impromptu invited Chinese students to sing a song on site. On May 15th, the Chinese Navy's new comprehensive ocean training ship Qi Jiguang, carrying 476 naval students and officers, set sail from a military port in Dalian, Liaoning, carrying out a long-distance internship mission and visiting countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines. On May 23rd, the Qi Jiguang ship arrived at the first stop of this voyage visit - Danang, Vietnam. This is the first time the Qi Jiguang ship has visited Vietnam since joining the fleet.
