Cao Xuetao said that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the Chinese government's dispatch of medical teams to developing countries. Over the past 60 years, China has sent a total of 30000 medical team members to 76 countries and regions worldwide, treating 290 million patients, and improving the health and well-being of people around the world. Cao Xuetao said that China is committed to solidarity and cooperation and to fighting the epidemic hand in hand, donating 50 million US dollars to the World Health Organization, 100 million US dollars to the COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Plan (COVAX), 38 batches of anti epidemic expert groups to 34 countries, and more than 2.2 billion doses of vaccines to more than 120 countries and international organizations around the world, which has strongly supported developing countries in combating the COVID-19 epidemic. Cao Xuetao said that the Chinese government has always prioritized the development of people's health, comprehensively promoted the construction of a healthy China, continuously deepened the reform of the medical and health system, and built the world's largest medical and health service system. 90% of urban and rural households can reach the nearest medical point within 15 minutes. Cao Xuetao said that China has established the world's largest medical security system, with basic medical insurance covering 1.36 billion people, a stable coverage rate of over 95%, and continuously improving medical security capabilities. Cao Xuetao said that China has effectively coordinated the prevention and control of the COVID-19 and economic and social development, optimized and adjusted the prevention and control strategies according to the time and situation, and achieved a major and decisive victory in the prevention and control of the epidemic. Cao Xuetao expressed that China highly appreciates the important leadership role played by the World Health Organization in the global health governance system over the past 75 years. We appreciate the outstanding efforts made by the World Health Organization to promote universal health coverage and improve health equity.
