On the morning of May 15th, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with Eritrean President Isaias, who is on a state visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People. Li Qiang stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ecuador 30 years ago, the political mutual trust between the two countries has been strong and cooperation has become increasingly close. China is willing to continuously enrich the connotation of its strategic partnership with Eritrea, enhance the strategic and sustainable cooperation between the two countries, and achieve win-win development. Li Qiang pointed out that both sides need to deeply align their respective economic and social development strategies, and strengthen exchanges on formulating industrial development plans, constructing industrial parks, and supporting the development of key industries. Deepen cooperation in infrastructure, marine fisheries, water resources, energy and mineral development, and cultivate new growth points for cooperation in digital economy, green economy, blue economy, and other fields. China will continue to provide assistance within its capabilities for the economic and social development of Eritrea. Both sides need to further coordinate and cooperate closely in regional and international affairs, implement the "Nine Projects" of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation and the "Concept of Peaceful Development in the Horn of Africa", adhere to true multilateralism, firmly oppose hegemonic power, defend the common interests of China, Eritrea and the vast number of developing countries, and safeguard world peace and development and international fairness and justice. Isaias expressed that the Eritrean side is grateful for the firm support provided by China to achieve independence and development, and highly appreciates China's important contributions to maintaining world peace and opening up a new path for human modernization. The Eritrean side is willing to strengthen friendly cooperation with China, draw on China's experience, promote the further development of the Eritrean China strategic partnership, write a new chapter in Africa China friendship, jointly oppose hegemonism, and work together to build a more fair and just international order.
