Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the "Notice on Developing Research Assistant Positions in Higher Education Institutions to Attract Graduates for Employment in 2023" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), which clearly states that each university should fully tap into its resources and potential, fully develop and utilize research assistant positions, and increase the guarantee of research assistant positions. The notice requires the full development and utilization of research assistant positions. Each unit should actively recruit fresh graduates to engage in postdoctoral, research assistance research, experimental technology, technical managers, academic assistants, and financial assistants, and other research assistant work. University science and technology parks, technology transfer centers, and other scientific and technological achievement transfer and transformation institutions constructed by universities should actively attract fresh graduates to engage in scientific and technological achievement transfer and transformation work, significantly expanding the number of research assistant positions. The notice points out that universities should play a coordinating role. According to the relevant policies on the management reform of scientific research funds, the surplus funds of scientific research projects should be reserved for the use of the project undertaking units. Each university should actively take action and, based on its own situation, coordinate the use of surplus funds from science and technology plan projects for the expenditure of funds for the position of scientific research assistant, providing long-term stable support for the position of scientific research assistant. The notice proposes to increase the guarantee of research assistant positions. Provide employment services for college graduates applying for research assistant positions, coordinate relevant departments such as scientific research, personnel, finance, and employment, and conscientiously implement the requirements of the Notice of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Finance, and the Natural Science Foundation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on Encouraging the Development of Scientific Research Projects to Attract College Graduates for Employment, regarding the guarantee of conditions for the position of research assistant, and enhance the attractiveness of the position of research assistant.
