Successful docking of China's 10000 ton offshore oil and gas platforms
2023-05-15
On May 13, CNOOC Enping 20-4 offshore drilling and production platform with a weight of more than 15000 tons was successfully docked with the subsea jacket in the sea area of the Pearl River Mouth Basin, Guangdong Province, where the water depth was nearly 100 meters, creating a new record for the installation weight of dynamic positioning floatation of offshore oil and gas platforms in China, and filling the domestic technical gap. After nearly 6 hours of operation, at 6 pm, the Enping 20-4 offshore drilling and production platform successfully achieved precise docking with a 100 meter high jacket that had already been installed on the seabed. Liu Huaxiang, General Manager of Deepwater Engineering Construction Center of China National Offshore Oil Corporation Shenzhen Branch: The operation process is equivalent to driving a super truck with a length of over 220 meters and a width of over 40 meters, loaded with 10000 cars, reversing and entering the warehouse on the sea surface affected by continuous changes in wind, waves and currents, and the edge error on both sides cannot exceed 10 centimeters. This affects the accuracy of design calculations, the reliability of the dynamic positioning system The technical level of the operators poses great challenges. The staff told reporters that in China, this task has long been carried out by foreign technical personnel. This assignment, including design, calculation, simulation, and construction, was completed independently for the first time in China. After installation, the Enping 20-4 platform will enter the drilling operation phase and be put into operation in the second half of this year, with the potential to become the highest yielding platform in the Enping oilfield group. The crude oil produced is transported through submarine pipelines to refineries along the coast of China. It is understood that the oilfield group where the Enping 20-4 offshore drilling and production platform is located is currently one of the fastest growing crude oil production fields in China. After the oilfield group is fully put into operation, the peak annual crude oil production will exceed 3.6 million tons, injecting new impetus into China's economic and social development.
