Chinese Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, spoke at the high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the 11th, calling on the international community to support the development of middle-income countries. He said that the current global economic recovery is weak, and various uncertain and unstable factors are intensifying. Developing countries, including middle-income countries, face multiple challenges in implementing sustainable development goals. The international community should unite and cooperate to jointly support middle-income countries in exploring development paths that are in line with their national conditions, and continuously move towards the goal of high-quality and sustainable development. One is to achieve development centered on the people, taking the improvement of people's well-being as the starting point and foothold of development, promoting social fairness and justice, and not letting anyone fall behind. The second is to promote innovation driven development, seize the opportunities of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, fully leverage the advantages of emerging technologies, improve digital governance, explore new growth drivers, and build an innovative country. China is willing to deepen scientific and technological innovation cooperation with other countries, share the achievements of innovative development, strengthen the capacity building of developing countries, and firmly oppose individual countries engaging in technological hegemony and decoupling. Thirdly, we must adhere to the development of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, promote green, low-carbon, and sustainable production and lifestyle, and coordinate the promotion of economic and social development and environmental protection. The fourth is to advocate open linkage, mutually beneficial and win-win development, practice true multilateralism, promote the construction of an open world economy, and create a good environment for the development of developing countries. He said that China has embarked on a new journey of comprehensively building a socialist modernized country. Chinese path to modernization is of great world significance. It is providing new opportunities for the world and opening up new space for cooperation. China is willing to work with other countries to promote common development and build a common future.
