In February of this year, the State Administration for Market Regulation exposed a number of illegal and criminal cases of medical aesthetics. Among them, some beauty institutions carry out medical beauty services such as injecting hyaluronic acid and slimming needles in the residential area without obtaining a "Medical Institution Practice License". The Guiding Opinions issued this time adhere to the bottom line of protecting the lives, health, and safety of the people, and clearly stipulate that medical beauty services belong to medical activities and must comply with the laws and regulations related to health industry access. According to the relevant person in charge of the State Administration for Market Regulation, from September 2022 to February 2023, the State Administration for Market Regulation and other 11 departments jointly organized a special action to address prominent issues in the medical beauty industry. A group of illegal institutions were cleared, a group of illegal personnel were punished, a group of typical cases were investigated, and a series of long-term institutional achievements were formed.
