After listening to the briefing, Chinese Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Geng Shuang, said that the risks and challenges facing European security are increasing, and China looks forward to the OSCE playing a positive and constructive role in maintaining peace and stability in Europe. Geng Shuang said that the OSCE has rich experience in conflict prevention and resolution. It is necessary to make good use of existing mechanisms, increase efforts to promote peace talks and mediate, balance the interests and concerns of all parties, encourage member states to abandon the zero sum mentality of the Cold War and group politics, establish mutual trust through dialogue and consultation, resolve disputes through peaceful negotiations, and achieve security through cooperation rather than confrontation. Geng Shuang stated that the principle of indivisibility of safety established in the final document of the 1975 Helsinki Conference should be upheld and implemented. The OSCE should promote member states to respect each other's reasonable security concerns, explore the construction of a balanced, effective, and sustainable European security architecture, and achieve common security. The OSCE should work with the international community to uphold true multilateralism, uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, establish an international order based on international law, and establish basic norms of international relations based on the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter. Together, we should promote the democratization and rule of law of international relations, and strive to achieve sustainable security in Europe. Geng Shuang said that China's position on the Ukrainian issue is consistent and clear. The international community should adhere to the correct direction of promoting peace talks and help all parties to the conflict open the door to a political solution to the crisis as soon as possible.
