Recently, the AIDS Prevention and Blocking Professional Committee of the Chinese Association for the Prevention and Control of STDs AIDS and the People's Health Publishing House jointly launched the AIDS prevention "teaching aids" for post exposure prevention services of community organizations, the "Guidance Manual for Community Organizations for Post exposure Prevention of AIDS Virus" (referred to as the "Guidance Manual"), which was supported by Gilead Science, and officially released in Beijing. Over the years, China has taken comprehensive HIV prevention and treatment measures that focus on prevention and address both the symptoms and the root causes. The rapid increase in the number of AIDS cases has been effectively curbed, and the treatment coverage and success rate of HIV infected people have continued to reach more than 90%. However, the number of new HIV infections cannot be ignored. Conducting scientific prevention and education to key populations, disseminating standardized HIV prevention and control knowledge, and implementing prevention and blocking strategies have become an important part of HIV prevention and control. Post exposure prevention is known as the last line of defense to effectively block HIV infection. It means that people who have not been infected with AIDS virus, after being exposed to high risk of AIDS infection, should receive virus blocking treatment within 72 hours to reduce the risk of infection through active intervention. The new version of the Chinese AIDS Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines also recommends a single tablet program for post exposure prevention, Bicentenol, to reduce the risk of infection for patients as much as possible. The guidance manual provides a detailed introduction to the significance of post exposure prevention in reducing HIV transmission, the key roles of community organizations, the concept of post exposure prevention, the applicable population, and how to acquire professional knowledge. In addition, the manual also combines the problems that may be encountered in actual work and focuses on explaining response methods with typical cases, providing reference for community workers. Professor Wang Hui from Shenzhen Third People's Hospital stated that the guidance manual is based on the work needs of community workers, with comprehensive and rich content, focusing on hot topics of concern to community workers, and has strong operability. It can more effectively help community workers carry out post exposure prevention related work, strengthen professional awareness of post exposure prevention, and improve service capabilities.
