The oldest person in Japan, who lives in Kashihara City, Osaka Prefecture, celebrated his 116th birthday on the 25th. According to Japanese media reports, this female elderly person, surnamed Xun, was born on April 25, 1907 and witnessed the changes of five eras in Japan: Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Linghe. On the 25th, the family members of the elderly and Mayor Hiroshi Fujiwara went to the nursing home where they lived to celebrate their birthday. The elderly person sat in a wheelchair and received blessings from everyone. The staff of the nursing home presented flowers and a birthday cake to the elderly person. Family members revealed that the secret to longevity for the elderly is to have a regular lifestyle, eat well, and sleep well. According to data released by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in September last year, the number of elderly people over 100 years old in Japan has exceeded 90000.
