The Fourth United Nations World Data Forum opened on April 24th in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. China has implemented the strategy of building a strong online country and the national big data strategy, promoting the deep integration of the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence, and the real economy, building a digital China and a smart society, promoting digital industrialization and industrial digitization, and achieving significant achievements in the development of the digital economy. China will accelerate the innovation and application of digital technology, fully leverage the advantages of massive data scale and rich application scenarios, promote the efficient circulation and use of data compliance, strengthen, optimize, and expand the digital economy, enhance new drivers of economic development, and provide strong support for promoting high-quality development. Ding Xuexiang pointed out that currently, the world's unprecedented major changes are accelerating their evolution, and global sustainable development is facing multiple challenges. We need to promote the implementation of global development initiatives through the "governance of data" approach, providing new impetus and vitality for sustainable development. He proposed four initiatives: firstly, adhering to true multilateralism, deepening global digital governance, breaking digital barriers, deepening data connectivity, and actively expanding equal, open, and cooperative digital partnerships. The second is to strengthen the application of digital innovation, accelerate the Digital transformation, strengthen the collaborative innovation of new generation digital technology, and promote the integration of digital technology into all fields and the whole process of economic and social development. The third is to promote fair development, continuously bridge the digital divide, create an open, inclusive, fair, just, and non discriminatory digital economy development environment, enhance the accessibility of the digital economy, and share the dividends of digital technology development. Fourthly, we will work together to implement the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, strengthen statistical monitoring of global poverty reduction, food security, energy supply, health, and other areas, and timely and accurately measure the progress and effectiveness of sustainable development. The Fourth United Nations World Data Forum is hosted by the United Nations and jointly hosted by the National Bureau of Statistics and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. The theme slogan of the forum is "Embrace a win-win future with data".
