Luo Zhaohui said that funding is crucial for achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The current international environment has made the issue of insufficient development funds even more complex. To promote the implementation of the sustainable development agenda and global development initiatives, China is taking action, and there is a greater need for global joint action. He emphasized the need to adhere to true multilateralism and bring development issues back to the center of the international agenda. Special attention should be paid to addressing global insecurity and creating a suitable environment for achieving the sustainable development agenda. Luo Zhaohui said that the United Nations should play a key and leading role in achieving the sustainable development agenda, coordinating the promotion of the sustainable development agenda, and global development initiatives. We need to promote global development governance, strengthen policy coordination, prioritize development, deeply align the sustainable development agenda with the development strategies of various countries, and focus on sustained joint action. Luo Zhaohui stated that we need to consolidate the international development cooperation pattern with North South cooperation as the main channel and South South cooperation as a beneficial supplement, adhere to the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities, seek common ground while reserving differences in development concepts, rules, standards, and other aspects, and promote the construction of a new type of North South relationship. Developed countries should take the lead in fulfilling their official development assistance commitments, while developing countries should enhance their independent development capabilities and strengthen South-South cooperation.
