2023-04-20
On the 19th, the Russian National Space Group said that two Russian astronauts from the International Space Station completed a spacewalk mission on the same day and safely returned to the station after nearly 8 hours of departure. According to the official website of the Russian National Space Group, Russian astronauts Sergei Prokopiev and Dmitry Pedrin opened the doors of the International Space Station's "Exploration" experimental module at 4:40 am Moscow time on the 19th (9:40 am Beijing time on the 19th) and began their spacewalk. Their main task is to transfer the external radiator of the International Space Station from the "Dawn" experimental module to the "Science" experimental module. According to the news, during the spacewalk, two astronauts untied the cables between the radiator and the "Dawn" experimental module. After completing the relevant work procedures, Russian astronaut Andrei Fejayev in the "Science" experimental module operated the "European robotic arm" on the console to transfer the radiator to the "Science" experimental module. Prokopiev and Peterin then docked and fixed the radiator with the module. The two astronauts worked outside the module for 7 hours and 54 minutes. This is Prokopiev's fourth spacewalk and Pedrin's second spacewalk. Two Russian astronauts were originally scheduled to carry out the spacewalk mission on November 25, 2022, but were delayed twice due to malfunctions. (New News Agency)
