83 medical professionals from Guangdong have arrived in Hong Kong to participate in the "Greater Bay Area Medical Talent Exchange Program"

China News Agency, Hong Kong, April 17 (Reporter Dai Xiaotong) - A group of Guangdong medical staff participating in the "Greater Bay Area Medical Talent Exchange Plan" of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority (HA) arrived in Hong Kong on the 17th. HA Chairman Fan Hongling and CEO Gao Ba were promoted to West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong to welcome them. Li Zhihua, a journalist from China News Agency, welcomed 70 nurses and 3 doctors from Guangdong Province to Hong Kong this time. He pointed out that along with the 7 doctors who arrived in Hong Kong last week and the 3 traditional Chinese medicine experts who have recently arrived in Hong Kong, a total of 83 people participated in this exchange plan. He said that these medical staff are proficient in both Chinese and English, and communication with Hong Kong citizens is not a problem. Fan Hongling pointed out that this plan can enhance communication and cooperation between healthcare professionals in Guangdong and Hong Kong. 70 nurses will be allocated to 7 networks under the jurisdiction of the Medical Authority, while doctors will be temporarily allocated to 3 networks. In the future, the Medical Authority will continue to expand its planning arrangements. About 100 more nurses will come to Hong Kong for communication before the end of this year, and a total of 300 nurses will come to Hong Kong for communication within two years through this plan. As the leader of the medical team visiting mainland Hong Kong this time, Yang Bo, a second level researcher at the Exchange and Cooperation Department of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, stated that the doctors participating in the plan will serve in Hong Kong for one year, while the nurses will serve for 10 and a half months. They are all medical technical backbone of major hospitals in Guangdong Province, and some medical staff have also participated in medical work for mainland aid to Hong Kong during the epidemic, and can be competent in both language and technology for work in Hong Kong. She hopes to deepen the future cooperation between Guangdong and Hong Kong in the field of healthcare, enhance communication on project cooperation and talent cultivation, and jointly promote the improvement of medical standards in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
