Deepen the integration of physical education and education, enabling children to grow more comprehensively

Recently, with more and more outstanding athletes entering the campus to teach, and more and more competitive sports champions leaving the campus, "integration of sports and education" has become a hot topic of attention and discussion. From the perspective of educational and teaching laws, sports and cultural education complement each other, and "body" and "teaching" are inevitably integrated; From the perspective of social development needs, only talents with strong comprehensive qualities can take on major responsibilities, and "physical" and "teaching" must be integrated. The integration of sports and education not only promotes the promotion of sports spirit and the deepening of sports culture, but also promotes the development of interdisciplinary disciplines such as sports technology, driving the improvement of technological and competitive levels. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes to build a strong education, technology, talent, culture, sports, and healthy China by 2035. Promoting the exploration and practice of sports education integration will provide solid and strong support for the achievement of this series of goals. The concept of comprehensive talent cultivation has existed for a long time. During the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, literati and officials had to master the "six arts" of etiquette, music, archery, imperial examination, calligraphy, and numerology. When the national strength was weak in modern times, young Mao Zedong proposed in his article "Research on Sports" to "civilize its spirit and savage its physique", emphasizing the important role of the comprehensive development of human body and mind in national self-improvement. The policy of integrating physical education with education proposed in the new era continues the educational concept of comprehensive development, and puts forward different requirements for two types of schools: for ordinary schools, physical education should be strengthened while teaching knowledge and culture; For professional sports schools, cultural education should be added while sports skills training. Both regular schools and professional sports schools should pay attention to the internal integration of sports and culture in the process of cultivating students, and achieve mutual promotion between the two. Generally, primary and secondary education mainly focuses on imparting knowledge. This relatively single teaching content and educational form can easily lead to physical and mental health problems for teenagers, requiring active intervention in sports. The most direct function of sports is to strengthen the body, but its role goes far beyond that. Physical exercise plays an irreplaceable role in promoting physical and mental health, improving overall quality, and cultivating the moral character of young people. The uplifting spirit formed by physical exercise can also promote quick thinking and achieve ideal results in cultural education. In primary and secondary education, it is necessary to fully ensure the time and venue of physical education classes, increase training on health knowledge and sports skills, guide students to master certain exercise programs, strengthen sports culture cultivation, and help young people develop a lifelong awareness and habit of exercise. Professional sports school students spend more time on sports training, and many athletes enter sports schools for training at a very young age, which to some extent alienates them from studying cultural courses. In fact, any athlete who has achieved success in sports has a strong desire for self-improvement. Just as physical exercise can promote knowledge learning and quality improvement, cultural courses for students in sports schools can also help them gain a deeper understanding of sports, enabling them to contribute to both competitive sports and serving the health of the whole nation. The author believes that the study of cultural courses for physical education students can be coordinated from two levels. One is to study basic cultural courses, especially humanities literacy courses
