Shu Kaili said at a joint press conference that the focus of the talks between the two sides is to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural fields. Both Egypt and Türkiye have strong political will to enhance bilateral relations. On the Libyan issue, Chavushiolu said that Türkiye and Egypt will strengthen cooperation on the Libyan issue. Shukeri said that Egypt and Türkiye have a common desire to hold free and fair elections in Libya and produce a government representing the will of the Libyan people. After former Egyptian President Morsi stepped down in 2013, relations between Egypt and Türkiye deteriorated, and the two countries subsequently downgraded their diplomatic relations.
