On April 12th, the reporter learned from the Ministry of Commerce that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, or RCEP, will officially enter into force for the Philippines on June 2nd. At that time, RCEP will be fully implemented for 15 member states, and the world's largest free trade zone will enter a new stage of comprehensive implementation. It is understood that China is the Philippines' largest trading partner, the largest source of imports, and the third largest export market. After the official entry into force of RCEP for the Philippines, in the field of goods trade, the Philippines has added zero tariff treatment to China's automobiles and parts, some plastic products, textiles and clothing, air conditioning and washing machines, etc. on the basis of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area. In the field of services and investment, the Philippines is committed to opening up markets to over 100 service sectors, significantly opening up sea and air transportation services, and providing more deterministic access commitments to foreign businesses in the fields of commerce, telecommunications, distribution, finance, agriculture, and manufacturing. Taking advantage of the RCEP policy dividend, enterprise orders have steadily increased, and trade with RCEP member countries accounts for 30.8% of China's foreign trade, nearly one-third of the total. In the production workshop of this clothing enterprise located in Rugao, Jiangsu, workers are rushing to make orders. In the first quarter of this year, the company actively utilized RCEP policy dividends to save customers $250000 in taxes. The total annual orders of the enterprise are expected to steadily increase. Zhang Zhou, Director of the Customs Clearance Department of Nantong Dongrun Industrial Co., Ltd.: More than 300 RCEP certificates have been applied for, with an amount exceeding 10 million US dollars, an increase of 1.4 times and 86.9% year-on-year, respectively. The full implementation of RCEP will contribute to global economic prosperity and development. The full implementation of RCEP will help expand the scale of trade and investment between China and RCEP member countries, meet the needs of domestic consumption expansion and upgrading, consolidate and strengthen regional industrial and supply chains, and promote long-term prosperity and development of the global economy. ASEAN Secretary General Gao Jinhong: RCEP Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which is an agreement that brings about the world's largest free trade zone. We are already making some relevant arrangements, including facilitating customs clearance and standardizing technical standards, to further promote the formation of regional markets and strengthen stability in the industrial and supply chains.
