17 Departments jointly issue documents to consolidate and improve the prevention and control of endemic disease
2023-04-12
The reporter learned from the National Disease Control Bureau that 17 departments, including the National Disease Control Bureau and the National Development and Reform Commission, recently jointly issued the Action Plan for Consolidation and Improvement of National endemic disease Prevention (2023-2025), making corresponding arrangements to further consolidate the national endemic disease prevention achievements and continue to implement comprehensive prevention and treatment measures for endemic disease. The plan clearly states that all localities should incorporate the prevention and control of endemic disease into the regional national economic and social development plan, strengthen leadership and ensure investment. Endemic disease is a biogeochemistry disease. Once the control measures are weakened or withdrawn, the disease is likely to return. It is necessary to consolidate and maintain comprehensive control measures for a long time to prevent and control endemic disease hazards from the source. According to the plan, the following seven major action goals are planned to be achieved by the end of 2025, including continuous elimination of iodine deficiency hazards, elimination of Kashin Beck disease and Keshan disease hazards, elimination of endemic fluorosis caused by coal pollution, continuous control of endemic fluorosis caused by drinking water, basic elimination of endemic arsenism caused by drinking water, effective control of endemic fluorosis caused by drinking tea, and effective control of high iodine in water sources. A sound prevention and control monitoring and evaluation system is the key to improving disease detection and early warning capabilities. The plan is clear that it is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of key areas and key populations, regularly carry out surveys on the epidemic situation of key endemic disease diseases, and accurately reflect and predict the situation and epidemic trend of endemic disease diseases. Continue to strengthen the informatization construction of endemic disease, strengthen the information management of endemic disease, and improve the timeliness and accuracy of prevention and control information reports. At the same time, strengthen the effective connection between monitoring and prevention and control interventions. (New News Agency)
