The opening ceremony of the new Belgrade Sulchin section of the E763 highway in Serbia, which was constructed by a Chinese company, was held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, on April 1. Serbian President Vuchi ć, Prime Minister Brnabic, and Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo attended the ceremony. In his speech, Wu Qiqi said that there is a good Chinese saying: "If you want to be rich, build roads first.". The new Belgrade Surchin section of the highway is a modern highway that includes bicycle lanes and sidewalks. The opening of this section will significantly shorten the distance between other cities and Belgrade. Wu Qiqi expressed his gratitude to the Chinese leaders and people. He said that he thanked Chinese friends for always standing with Serbia, and Serbia will continue to maintain and promote the friendship between Serbia and China. Chen Bo expressed his pleasure that Serbian friends traveling on this road can feel the tangible results of mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Serbia every day. The smooth opening of the highway has condensed the efforts of all parties. I thank the Serbian side for its strong support for Chinese construction enterprises, and thank the builders of China and Serbia for their hard work. I hope that the two sides can achieve more cooperation results in the field of infrastructure construction. The new Belgrade Surchin section is the starting section of the E763 Expressway, connecting the urban area of Belgrade with the completed Surchin Obrenovac section of the E763 Expressway, with a total length of 7.9 kilometers. It is constructed by China Communications Construction Group Co., Ltd. After this section is opened to traffic, the total mileage of E763 Expressway has reached 140 kilometers, of which about 87 kilometers have been constructed by Chinese enterprises. (Liao Xinshe)
