Ren Hongyan said that the Chinese side adheres to the new development concept of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing, adheres to the people-centered approach, and takes the construction of ecological civilization as the guide. It comprehensively promotes high-level protection and high-quality development, and has achieved significant results in waste management. First, comprehensively prohibit the entry of "foreign garbage", achieve the goal of clearing the import of solid waste by the end of 2020 as scheduled, reduce the import of solid waste by 100 million tons, and effectively control the risk of soil pollution. The second is to continuously improve the domestic solid waste recycling system, cultivate the solid waste processing and utilization industry, accelerate the promotion of urban and rural garbage classification, and continuously improve the recycling rate of renewable resources. In 2021, the recycling amount of main renewable resources will reach 385 million tons. Third, actively promote the construction of "waste free cities", fully implement the principles of solid waste reduction, recycling, and harmless treatment, and continuously improve resource utilization efficiency. It is planned to promote the construction of "waste free cities" in about 100 cities by 2025. Ren Hongyan stated that China will continue to focus on the construction of a "waste free city", actively promote the green transformation of five key areas such as industry, agriculture, life, and construction, fully leverage the role of digital technology, continuously improve the construction of systems, technologies, markets, and regulatory systems, and promote the integration of waste management, environmental protection, and climate change strategies. At the same time, China will adhere to the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, actively participate in global environmental governance, strengthen international cooperation in combating climate change, biodiversity conservation and other fields, share successful experience and good practices in waste management with all parties, provide financial and technical support within its capacity for developing countries under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the global development initiative, and work with all parties to build a clean and beautiful world.
