Ai Qing, a poet born in Jindong District, Jinhua City, is an outstanding representative of Chinese new poetry in the 20th century. Together with Neruda, Chile, and Hitemaker, Türkiye, Ai Qing is known as "the three great poets of the people in the 20th century". The "Ai Qing Poetry Award" was jointly sponsored and established by the Chinese Poetry Society and the Jindong District Government in May 2021, and is named after Ai Qing, a leading poet in the poetry world. This is one of the highest awards for Chinese poetry, held every two years as a biennial award. The award target is a poet who has achieved fruitful results and has certain influence at home and abroad, and has formed a unique style and literary appeal in poetry creation. After the preliminary and final evaluation of the evaluation committee, three award-winning works of the first "Ai Qing Poetry Award" were finally selected, including Wang Jiaxin's "Memory of the Future", Quanzi's "The Green Mountains Have Never Been So Full", and Heitao's "Listening to the Secret Language of Everything Alone in the Attic"; Wang Dandan's "Notes on Hualuping" and Xiong Yan's "Time Has Finally Made Me Understand" won the "Ai Qing Poetry Award - Young Poet Award"; Gu He's "Every Morning in the World", A Xin's "Surprise Story", Zhang Zhan's "Zhang Zhan's Poems", Zhang Zhan's "The Shape of Water: Selected Pleasant Lyric Poems", and Xiao Xiao's "Healing, Mother Tongue" were nominated for the "Ai Qing Poetry Award". At the event site, leaders and guests attending the award ceremony presented awards to the winners of the first "Ai Qing Poetry Award", awarded the "Honorary Poet of Ai Qing's Hometown" to poets Ye Yanbin and Zhao Lihong, and released the second "Ai Qing Poetry Award"
