Beijing Issued the First Individual E-commerce to Entity Business License in China
2023-03-29
Liu Pengkun, a self-employed business owner, recently obtained a changed business license from the Fengtai District Government Affairs Service Center in Beijing, becoming the first individual online store in the country to transform into a physical self-employed business owner. "I opened an online clothing store online, and after changing my registration today, offline physical stores will soon be opened. Adding online and offline stores will make my business more and more prosperous in the future," Liu Pengkun said. According to reports, due to the low cost, flexibility and convenience of online business, many entrepreneurs choose to conduct business activities on online platforms. With the expansion of their business scope, these entrepreneurs gradually have the desire to operate offline. According to previous policies and operations, the proposed offline operation requires first canceling the current online store and reapplying for registration offline, which is cumbersome and not conducive to the sustainable development of online stores. In order to better cultivate and stimulate the vitality of online trading business entities, the Notice of the Beijing Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau on Trial Implementation of Supporting Platform Economic Development and Optimizing the Registration Management of Individual Online Store Operators was recently issued, proposing 15 specific measures from three aspects: supporting the high-quality development of individual e-commerce, promoting the standardized development of e-commerce platforms, and taking multiple measures to form a regulatory closed-loop. This includes supporting individual e-commerce to expand offline business channels through address changes, supporting individual e-commerce to record multiple business location information using the "one photo multiple address" method, and supporting individual e-commerce to achieve the transformation to modern enterprise systems through the "individual to enterprise" method.
