During the two sessions of this year, Jiang Yaodong, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former vice president of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), included a proposal that was closely related to aesthetic education in higher education. Please talk about why you pay attention to this issue? Jiang Yaodong: Contemporary Chinese youth are a generation who are walking with the new era and moving forward together. They are born in a prosperous age and shoulder heavy responsibilities. Make good use of the Internet to do a good job of aesthetic education, let college youth fully understand China's excellent traditional culture, and form an interest in and appreciation of culture and art, which will help cultivate future talents who can carry forward traditional culture and improve the cultural literacy of the whole people. To promote and complete these tasks, we need to effectively use the new media means represented by the Internet to fully attract the attention and experience of college youth. China Literature and Art Network: What problems do you think need to be solved in college aesthetic education? Jiang Yaodong: For a long time, aesthetic education has been a weak link in China's education. Inadequate resource allocation and large shortage of teachers have become the main weaknesses of aesthetic education. The shortage of professional teachers is a major bottleneck restricting traditional art education in colleges and universities. At present, there are about 1 million full-time aesthetic education teachers nationwide, and there is still a large gap in the number of teachers. College teachers lack their own aesthetic education knowledge, and are slightly weak in the face of practical and professional literature and art content. China Literature and Art Network: In view of the above problems, what ways do you think should be taken to improve the current situation of the shortage of teachers in aesthetic education in colleges and universities? Jiang Yaodong: In terms of professional talents, literary and artistic workers undertake the important responsibility and historical mission of educating people with culture, benefiting people with culture and strengthening the country with culture. Promote the construction of literary and artistic workstations in colleges and universities, provide conditions for literary and artistic workers to enter the campus, and use social resources to expand aesthetic education resources. We will guide well-known artists and literary and artistic workers who are both virtuous and artistic to give lectures in colleges and universities and spread the fine works of literature and art. In terms of teaching form, to improve the effect of aesthetic education in colleges and universities, we should make full use of network information technology.
