Russia Launches "Ray 5X" Relay Satellite

The Russian National Space Group announced on its official website on the 13th that the relay satellite "Ray-5X" carrying the "Proton-M" carrier rocket lifted off from the Baikonur launch site in Kazakhstan at 2:13 a.m. Moscow time (7:13 Beijing time) on the 13th and has entered the scheduled orbit. The Russian multi-function "ray" relay satellite system was put into use in December 2015. In addition to the "ray - 5X" launched on the same day, there are three satellites in orbit, including "ray - 5A", "ray - 5B" and "ray - 5C". The three satellites were launched in 2011, 2012 and 2014 respectively. These relay satellites provide services for the information exchange of fixed and mobile communication facilities on the ground, in the air and in outer space. (Xinhua News Agency)
