PETG copolyesters, widely used as packaging materials for baby bottles and medical devices, were completely dependent on imports in the past. Over the years, grassroots scientific and technical personnel have targeted the "pearl in the crown" of this chemical product, from the laboratory with poor conditions to the production line with roaring motors, to breaking into the market to open the market, and finally achieved a major breakthrough in the key technology for the preparation of PETG copolyester raw materials and a full range of products, making China the third country in the world to master the production technology of this product. From the first "Dacron" in New China to the ten-million-ton integrated refining and chemical enterprise, we have always firmly held the key core technology in our hands. Over the years, I have carried out extensive research in factories, workshops and laboratories, and have always been thinking about the question, as a "time-honored" state-owned enterprise, how on earth should I contribute to the self-reliance of science and technology? Before this year's NPC and CPPCC, during the investigation of polyester and polyolefin plants, I found that China's new chemical material industry still has structural contradictions of "low end surplus and high end shortage". To solve the problems of scattered production capacity layout of some key materials, inflexible R&D system and mechanism, and shortage of high-level leading talents, we need to focus on strengthening the collaborative innovation of the industrial chain. This year's government work report pointed out that the dominant position of enterprises in scientific and technological innovation should be highlighted. I suggest that we strengthen the top-level design and overall layout, organize the collaborative development of "specialized and innovative" enterprises and backbone enterprises, overcome the technical problems of industrial development, build an integrated collaborative innovation mechanism of "production, education, research and application", create a collaborative, efficient and open technology research and development and application system, and strengthen the key core technology research from raw material preparation, material synthesis to processing and application.
