According to Wang Guanghua, the next step is to build a national ecological security barrier, promote the construction of a beautiful China, and do a good job in the following aspects: First, we should adhere to the priority of protection and accelerate the construction of a natural reserve system with national parks as the main body. According to the layout plan of national parks, this year we will focus on promoting the establishment of a new batch of national parks such as the Yellow River Estuary, Qinling Mountains, Ruoergai, Qiangtang, and Asian Elephants. At the same time, we should speed up the legislation of the National Park Law and revise the regulations on nature reserves and scenic spots. Second, we should adhere to systematic governance and continue to deploy a number of new major projects for ecological protection and restoration. This year, we will further deploy a number of landscape projects in important ecological functional areas such as the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Yangtze River and the Yellow River. At the same time, we will continue to implement the protection and restoration of the coastline and coastal zone, and focus on solving major problems such as the degradation of coastal wetlands, the shrinking of the coastline, and the invasion of alien species.
