Zhai Meiqing, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Xiangjiang Group, said in a recent interview with reporters from China News Service that through research, rural children were found to be in a relatively weak environment of growth support, and resources to support children's mental health were scarce in rural areas, so the construction of a mental health system for rural children should be accelerated. Zhai Meiqing has brought three proposals this year, one of which is "Suggestions on Promoting the Construction of Rural Children's Mental Health Service System", which is also Zhai Meiqing's proposal for rural children's mental health for six consecutive years. The "Xiangjiang Social Assistance Foundation" set up by Xiangjiang Group found that with the economic development and the country's great efforts in poverty alleviation, even the hardware facilities of rural schools in some difficult areas have been greatly improved, and the demands received by the foundation have gradually shifted from the initial urgent hardware needs to mental health needs. Zhai Meiqing said that recently, its project members learned from a county in Guangxi that there are about 270000 permanent residents in the county and only 14 licensed psychological consultants. A large primary school in the county has 84 teaching classes, with nearly 4900 students, and only three part-time psychological tutors. County psychological tutors still lack professional support and the ability to carry out psychological classes. The school also lacks appropriate mental health education textbooks, the content of textbooks lags behind, and the operability of teaching plans is low. The survey also found that individual school administrators have incorrect understanding of mental health, regard students' mental problems as ideological problems, and believe that strengthening moral education does not require mental health education. Mental health education courses are often replaced by moral education, moral and legal education and class meetings. In addition, during the recent visit of the project, it was found that the problem of Internet addiction of rural children was increasingly prominent. According to front-line educators, parents' working outside improves family economic conditions, but many rural children can only accept "intergenerational support". The elderly who bear the responsibility of raising lack the energy to interact with their children and stop them from indulging in the internet. Zhai Meiqing said that unhealthy psychological state will bring physical discomfort and psychological symptoms to children. These physical and psychological problems will affect children's learning and life, such as fear of school and difficulty in getting along with family and classmates; In serious cases, they will also hurt themselves; Unhealthy psychological state may also induce children's problem behaviors and even illegal and criminal behaviors. "The period of children aged 6 to 12 is the key stage of individual psychological development, and children's mental health is crucial to cultivate their independent and healthy personality, form their self-confident and self-reliant spiritual quality, and establish their ideal beliefs and life goals." Zhai Meiqing believes that for the psychological problems of rural children, we should accelerate the construction of a mental health construction system for rural children, and form schools, families The mental health service model of rural children nested in village and town organizations. Zhai Meiqing said that at present, many public welfare organizations have provided various public welfare services for rural mental health education, such as attending psychological classes in schools and providing psychological counseling services, but due to the lack of coordination mechanism and lack of joint efforts, they have not been able to give full play to the best benefits. Zhai Meiqing said: "In order to better narrow the gap between urban and rural areas of children's mental health resources, I propose to build a township with 'government leadership, school main body and social participation'
